While some parents find it hard to get their kids to eat more vegetables, the city of Ghent, Belgium has certainly come up with a unique way of getting not just kids, but EVERYONE in Ghent, eating more vegetables.
They’re quite literally making a day out of it.
The BBC and The National Post in Canada reports that the government of this fine city has declared a weekly “veggie day”, where, for a whole day, everyone becomes a vegetarian. They’re kicking it off by setting an example as well, as public officials and politicians will be the first to give up meat for a day. This will be followed by school children with their own veggiedag in September.
I wonder if they know about our Food for Thought healthy lunchbox? I bet they’d come in handy come September!
